Everyday Is a Gift!

This is the full moon picture I took in October 2009, i.e. the Mid Autumn Festival in Chinese Calender. This is the day for families to gather together, to celebrate the harvest of the year and enjoy the good food and the reunion. For the children, it is also known as the "Moon Cake" Day! (And smile please!) Look ... the moon is really beautiful with all these fine details. There are so many things in life that we have missed daily, e.g. the smell of a flower, the freshness of the air, a drop of the rain, a ray of sunshine, the care and love expressed by our loved ones, and ... the time we are allowed on this planet Earth! We are simply too occupied, or merely absent-minded to recognize that Everyday Is a Gift! We may not know what tomorrow may hold for us, but this very day, this very moment, is already a gift for us that we should enjoy and use it to the fullest!

  1. Funny that you posted this picture 'cos I remembered that I saw a curve Moon with two Bright Stars on top and look like an smiling face on the wide open sky last Oct. when I was in QingDao... It's sooo amazing and I did pause for a while and enjoying that BIG SMILE in the sky... In addition, it puts a "Big Smile" on my own face and also on my assistances (Wendy & Hans) as well. =P

  2. You know weel that I am a big astronomy fan and by looking at celestial bodies like the moon and the stars, not only do they give us some of the most beautiful images we can see, but as well made us reflect on ourselves, to see how immaterial we are in the greater scheme of things! Yet, as immaterial as we can be, I had the opportunity to be your friend (through thick and thin times), and that's more significant to me than most things in life!

  3. Matthew, this is a really good picture of the moon you have taken. I didn't realize you are such a professional photographer. Hope you will continue to take great pictures and thanks for reminding us that we should all cherish the simple things in life such as admiring the moon on a clear night. Hang in there, we are all pulling for you.
