  3. Dear Esther and family,

No words can enable me to express my sadness upon hearing Matthew's returning to Heavenly Father last Saturday. May I send my deepest condolence to Esther and your children on losing a lovely father!

I still remember the days while I interviewed Matthew and shot the TV program at your home for FLL. Matthew's positivity and courage towards life impressed me tremendously. He liked the following verse in Psalm 23:"
    Goodness and mercy all my life shall surely follow me;
    And in God's house forevermore
    My dwelling place shall be."

Matthew's words and smiles will always be in everybody's mind.

    Matthew, good rest in peace!

    Paul

  5. Esther, Leo ans Olivia,

This message came from a friend of mine, who was given a Life-O-Life T-shirt to wear for the Boston Marathon:

I'm so sorry that I didn't have a chance to meet Matthew. My thoughts were with him throughout today's 115th running of the Boston Marathon. I know that he kept me strong when I completed Heartbreak Hill and struggled to the finish line only a few hours ago.

I am unable to attend Matthew's Celebration of Life on Wednesday, as I'll still be in Boston. Please pass on this message and my sincere condolences to the Chan family.

  8. Dear Esther, Leo and Olivia,

I was utterly sadden to hear of the passing of Matthew while I was travelling in Shanghai. Unfortunately, as much as I wanted to, I cannot return to Canada on time to attend Matthew's Celebration of Life.

There is no words which can ease the pain of losing your loved one, yet we should all know that Matthew is now in God's home where there is no more pain and suffering. Matthew had indeed inspired everyone of us. May God's grace shine upon him and his family, forever.

    With deepest condolences,
    Eric and Family

  9. Dear Eric:

Thanks for the message... I'm sure that Matt wouldn't mind that 'cos he used to travel a lot himself... Everything went smoothly and after the Cremation on April 21 at 13:00 in Surrey Arbor Cremation Centre... All the family members went to White Rock for lunch with Matt (his Spirit & Photo) and head home... I believe that he'll say "A New Chapter" begins (up there and smile)... Joey

Just got the message that Bernice sent to me. Although I am half globe away, I still miss Matt and your family. I will pray for him and will pray for your family too. I am sure Matt already started his new life and reborn again. We need to be brave and strong like he did how to inspire us.

Thankyou Matthew, he will forever live in our heart.
